Shorterm went to Troubled Acres, and we all got VERY emo. The event was held at Private Park, and the space was packed with people by the time ladyluck kicked off the night with their brand of fuzzed-out shoegaze. In between bands, the crowd roasted marshmallows over a campfire and participated in multiple rounds of tug-of-war. Rose Ceremony played next, fitting the emo theme of the event perfectly with songs inspired by late 90's to early 2000's screamo. Jockey traveled from Dallas to play this show, playing a mix of fast hardcore and emotional sing-alongs. Die Mart was the last band to play, and they ended the show on a heavy note that got everyone moving. No Eyes performed a DJ set at the end while everyone stayed around to keep hanging out! I'd also like to give Rambler Sparkling Water a huge shout-out for supplying the event with enough water to keep everyone hydrated all night long. The event ran as smoothly as possible, thanks to the event organizers @superhellarad, @hannahfulkers0n, and @urfriendbrend on Instagram. The San Marcos music scene is fully alive, and we were honored to be at Troubled Acres.
